Casa México Teamed up with TikTok’s Jesus Morales to Support Local Street Vendors
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (September 8, 2021)—Casa México has partnered with TikTok star Jesus Morales (@juixxe) to give away $1,000 donations to Los Angeles street vendors. So far, each Casa México partner — Eric “Don” Buccio, Mario Lopez, and Oscar de la Hoya — has surprised unsuspecting street vendors with extra cash.
Casa México’s founder, Eric Buccio, is a first-generation Mexican-American immigrant who came to Los Angeles with his parents as a young child. Hard work, passion, and the American Dream-ethos was passed down to him from his parents and he founded Casa México with these principles.
“My parents taught me the value of hard work and community as a child,” said founder, Eric Buccio. “I see similar stories in immigrants all around Los Angeles. The pandemic has taken its toll on many people, we wanted to find a way to help some of these people working toward the American Dream.”
The partners of Casa México knew joining forces with Jesus Morales would make a real impact to those in need. With more than 1.1 million TikTok followers, Morales rose to fame in the midst of the pandemic for his surprise donations to unsuspecting workers in LA and San Diego. So far, Morales has given away more than $90,000 throughout Los Angeles and San Diego. Jesus shares the videos on TikTok to help attract the attention and support from viewers and partners like Casa México.
“Community is such an important part of Mexican culture and we at Casa México believe in supporting our community– our extended family,” explains Lopez. “Surprising street vendors with $1,000 donations has been very moving and helping others is one of the most fulfilling parts of our jobs.”
