DON BUCCIO

Owner / FOUNDER
Born in Mexico, Don Buccio moved to the United States with his family when he was barely a year old and grew up in Los Angeles, California. His father worked for a tortilla company in Southern California, and as early as 5 years old Don Buccio would follow him along his routes, learning about the food and beverage industry. At the age of 18 Don Buccio already had a job at Pepsi lined up and, through the years, he worked his way up the corporate ladder becoming a pioneer in his field.

Don Buccio never forgot his roots and always remembered his parents drinking and serving tequila to family and friends in their home. His childhood home was considered the epicenter of Mexican American culture in their neighborhood, welcoming all backgrounds, while uniting the community through authentic experiences cultivated around Mexican heritage.

MARIO LOPEZ

PARTNER
Award-winning actor Mario Lopez first sipped Casa México Tequila at his wedding in Punta Mita, and to say he was a fan is an understatement — Mario and his guests celebrated with 120 bottles! Mario is not only an avid tequila lover, but he is one of the busiest men in Hollywood, hosting not only the television show Access Hollywood, but iHeartMedia radio shows On with Mario Lopez and iHeartRadio Countdown with Mario Lopez, along with the boxing podcast The 3 Knockdown Rule. In addition to his hosting duties, Mario launched a YouTube channel called The Lopez Family and created the upcoming Netflix series, The Expanding Universe of Ashley Garcia. He was also honored and named the Alumni Ambassador of Fitness by the Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA).

OSCAR DE LA HOYA

PARTNER
Oscar De Lay Hoya, also known as “The Golden Boy,” was born in Los Angeles, California, to a Mexican family with a rich history of boxing, so it’s not surprising that he grew up to become one of the greatest fighters of his generation. Oscar not only won an Olympic gold medal, but he won ten world titles in six different divisions and generated hundreds of millions of dollars from his pay-per-view fights. Since his retirement in 2009, Oscar has become the leader of Golden Boy Promotions and co-owner of MLS soccer team, The Houston Dynamo. He is now known as an astute businessman, elite promoter and an active philanthropist, focusing his efforts on his old East LA neighborhood and other urban Latino communities.

Rich in History.
Rooted in Tradition.

Wine Concept
Our founder, Don Buccio grew up in a traditional Mexican household and, while he was raised in Los Angeles, he never forgot his roots. He always remembered his parents drinking tequila and entertaining friends and family. Rarely would someone refuse a glass of tequila, but as a kid, he never understood their strange facial expressions when drinking it. He told his parents that one day he was going to make a tequila that wouldn’t cause people to make “that face” when bringing it to their lips. It became Don Buccio’s mission to create a product so smooth that people would actually want to sip it instead of taking it as a shot.

Don Buccio’s journey began in 1999 when he purchased the some of the best quality agave fields in Jalisco, Mexico. He has spent the last 20+ years perfecting his vision and creating this small batch of premium tequila. Casa México Tequila encompasses Don’s love for family tradition and Mexican culture — Rich in history and rooted in tradition.

After creating Casa México Tequila, Don Buccio started sharing his passion product with friends and family. The response was overwhelming and caught the attention of Mark Roberts, a local businessman and producer. Mark asked Don Buccio if he could introduce Casa México Tequila to his good friend, actor and fellow tequila connoisseur, Mario Lopez. Like Don Buccio, Mario grew up in Southern California with a strong Mexican background. When Mario tasted Casa México Tequila, he knew it was something special and immediately partnered with the tequila company. Soon after Mario got on board, his long time friend and boxing legend, Oscar De La Hoya, joined the team. These three men — all raised in Los Angeles, all who value Mexican culture and customs — have worked relentlessly to bring this authentic, smooth tequila to the world. The name of their extraordinary product, Casa México Tequila, reflects all they set out to accomplish, which was to successfully capture the true essence of a Mexican household.
